I would like to know where I can get acryllic demo lenses. I've done a little searching but haven't found a whole lot.
Thanks!

1+ Good question! We end up having to use CR39 planos....
Most lens and generator/edger manufactures used to supply dummy blanks for one to set the edgers and grinding equipement with. The edger version was thin. Been a long time since I was in the lab end but they may still be available. Try Corning and Pitsburg Glass (they make plastic). Of course you will have to be able to do your own edging. If you want them pre-cut you will have to get them from the frame mfg. which you probabaly can't.

Not acryllic, but Stormin Normans has "Our CR-39 Clear Demo Lenses can be used for demonstrating edging, tinting, or for replacing demo lenses in your frame collection. Not for patient use. 25 pair to a pack."
I bought some from Optisource and they are NO GOOD so don't make my mistake. They are some sort of acryllic like you are asking for but super cheap. Most of them would break while edging and the few that I did get to cut without breaking were ruined by our lens cleaner. As soon as a sprayed them the lenses got milky colored, and this was just with a standard lens cleaner not even alcohol. I threw the rest away.
I think stormin normans is my next try too.
Properly medicated for your protection.
I could mention that even wiping a polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) piece of plastic with alcohol will cause and infinite amouhts of infinitesimal cracks. Any longer exposure will do some really bad things. The good news is it's not affected by Naptha or Acetone.

I just have a box next to the blocker I throw the bigger demos, from aviators and such, into while I'm edging. When a frame needs a new demo, I pull out the box and edge them on the polycarb setting. Sometimes you can even get the correct brand name in there!
