Police? Hmmmm. Bet you'd get a hit if you posted the Rx. Many Rxes are stored in computers. It could be a good way to nab a bad guy.

I will do it for you. RX: (Axis more likely 100 or 95.)
    OD) Right lens +2.25 - .25 X .098
    OS) Left lens +2.00
With bifocal lens add +1.50 O.U.
    (Executive Type Bifocal lenses)
This is a bad,bad person that needs to be arrested and exterminated.

Am I missing something? I doubt I'd have anything to contribute to help out, but this is intriguing.

    <<RFO, correct me if I'm wrong - I've seen this recently.>>

This pair of glasses is from the Ontario College of Optician's newsletter that was distributed to all its members. The Toronto Police Service is trying to solve a homicide in which the victim was wearing these glasses - they are reaching out for assistance to help identify the victim.

I'll bet there's DNA in that bridge.

Massachusetts had a murder scene a few years ago where I believe it was a Marcolin frame was left at the scene. I asked a hometown cop if maybe the optical community could help. He said the investigation was being taken over by the State Police. They did contact a few shops but nothing came of it. He also said it had all the hallmarks of a professional killing and would be very difficult to solve.

Back in the 70's my father who was an optician had a gentleman come in with a frame missing a lens. He had made glasses for this family for many years. The glasses belonged to the gentlemans teenage son. I think he was 18. He said his son had lost the lens and asked my father replace it. As my father was holding the glasses in his hand a policeman walked in asking if there was any way to identify this lens that came from a crime scene from the night before. My father stood there in shock. The guys son spent I believe 8 years in jail. My father is now passed but he would never talk about this story. Believe it or not the person still gets glasses from me now. True but strange event.

It looks like a Marcolin/National Commander , but it's hard to tell from the picture, is it a full metal frame or semi rimless?

I once had someone drop off a pair of glasses that they found in one of our cases on the other side of town. We were able to do a search in our system for the frame and then narrow it down to the RX. Found the person.
