    Digital Acuity Charts

What is everyone using for their digital acuity charts? What brand? Why did you choose that one?

I think they're a huge ripoff, unless prices have come down since I bought mine a few years back. I think paid 2k for Acuity Pro, which is nice and everything - but it displays random letters and has a remote. Woowoo.

How about making your own using Microsoft PowerPoint on an old PC.

THat's basically what i did on my MacBook for school screenings. It took a little time to calculate the letter size and stuff, but after I did it I thought "damn, I should have just done this with my exam room chart and saved myself 2k". Oh well.

+1, very easy, you can even videos for retinoscopy fixation with children. I'm no fan of random letters, I like that I can memorize the chart and never have to look at it, just make a couple of extra 20/40, 20/25, and 20/20 lines.

We use Acuity Pro, sometimes with the random letters, sometimes with the standard chart. You can use either. Sometime patients (we all know them) have memorized the charts. Have you ever had anyone start reading off the charts when both eyes are occluded? We have.
