I am saying opticians do not want delegation any more now than they did last time and last time 93 per cent were vehemently aginst it . The proposal thsi time is worse than it was last time so why should it have any better acceptance rate with opticians ? Why would opticians want to delegate unles they are self employed. The benefit for delegation is only for employers and the MOH . No one else benefits .

It is impossible for the patient to benefit from untrained delegatees with no education and low pay . The selling job to opticians on delegation is false .

No. Are you disputing the link I provided to you and the fact that the agency responsible for ODSP is MCSS?

Ministry of Health & Long Term Care,
    Registration & Claims Branch
    P.O. Box 1700 Station 'A'
    Toronto, Ontario,
    M5W 1G9

Do you want to believe me or a lawyer ?

I said I believe you about the address. Why are you so held up about the address? There have been other things I have provided and you are not even reading them. Read the link. The MOHLTC is a paymaster, but the MCSS does the service.

    You are just being irrational.

I am not trying to be difficult and I do not dispute who is the Minister of Community and Social Services but that has nothing to do with who is really in charge .

For the most part , most people believe that all of the Colleges are self governing , but that is not true either. MOH can and does over rule. When that happens then the dictator has spoken .

Not irrational at all . If you want to work on the problem from the association level go ahead , but you will get no where . If you want to work on the problem from the MCSS level then go ahead but you will get no where . I like the top down approach . The top never likes to be embarassed by the underlings. If you aim for the top then they can decide to delegate the solution to their own peons and they can deal with their own little people . After 30 years of accepting a ridiculous fee schedule I think we should all aim for the top and the MOH can sprinkle blame where she wants .

The top is not the MOHLTC or MCSS. It is the Premier. I do not know why you think the MOHLTC is overtop of the MCSS.

You guys are so smart and well spoken ( really, I mean it) give the right people a call. Maybe get a petition going, they do work. I think we are all sick of the price list, and really, who will benefit in the long run? The people that rely on this service, not us.

I was upset last year. The DSSAB in our region was doing a tender for Ontario Works on eyeglasses. I was furious that everyone on welfare would be forced to go to one optical store. Some would have to grab several buses to get service. We refused to apply for the tender. I spoke to the board members on DSSAB, but they just could not get why it was wrong. Why it would have been better to tender it through a lab or a frame company instead of a store. They felt that lower prices would increase accessibility, but it did the opposite.

which proves the point that they only care about low cost , which is why the insurance companies, chain employers and the government want delegation . it also is evident when you ask yourself why an optician delegating for the beneift of the employer or someone else should have to pay insurance for the delegatee as our COO proposes . That is ASININE
