Wow, Sad story.
the guy is an alleged rapist and they took 5 seconds of the story to cover that part but they must have said optometrist 25 times.
so ray bans are for rapists and Camaros are for murderers.
It' really irrelevant as to if he was an OD, an optician, or an MD. The big story is the sign in the window. From the story, it looked like he was an independent OD. Why the Ray Ban sign in the window?:hammer:
Remember, it is only alleged. We do not know the facts, so let's not jump to conclusions.
The other thing is that many crimes are caused by poverty, mental health and drug use. Things like robbery, murder, violence, etc. But crimes like in the story cross so many boundaries. If you speak to a police officer who arrests people for rape, child porn and such, it always saddens them that they tend to be professionals and people with good jobs and lives.
Darby,What is your point about the RayBan sign? He's an OD he sells RayBans, he promotes that by putting a sign in the window!
I'm just wondering if he'll try to use the insanity defense, and use the sign in the window as proof that he's lost his ability to reason and make sound decisions. I could see any atty worth half her salt questioning him on the stand:
"Doctor,is it really true that Rayban is in fact owned by the same company that owns retail outlets that you compete against, as well as online optical retailers? And you continued to buy from them knowing this??? Your honor, this man is obviously not competent to stand trial on these charges, and I move for a dismissal!"
Yeah...that sign in the window is his ace in the hole.
