    built in scratch coat

I had a friend take a test that I am about to take and she had a question that asked, what lens has a built-in scratch coat? I can not find an exact answer. would it be semi-finished lens that add it to the mold??

No lens as far as I know has built in scratch coat. The question sounds incorrectly worded- are you sure that was what they were asking? If the question was "which lens is naturally scratch-resistant" then glass is the obvious answer. If they are essentially asking which lens cannot be distributed (made, used, sold) without scratch resistance, then the answer is "the most horrible material we have ever decided to pawn-off on the unsuspecting general public because it's cheap and we can charge more for it"; or poly for short. Uncoated poly will scratch if you touch it, look at it wrong, or breathe on it.
