What are your suggestions.

I am currently in school with the goal of becoming a nurse.I am not in a nursing program yet because I am doing the general education classes first so when I am in the program I will just have nursing classes to worry about. I would like to stay in optical in one way or another. I have been told that opthamologist sometimes use nurses but more often they hire surgery techs because they are less expensive. I was wondering what you all thought. IF you are an optician working for an MD do they have nurses in your office? or are they Techs? Thank you.

I'm an RN (Doctorate level) I have worked as an Ophthalmic Nurse, but..... Most RN's in optics work at surgical centres not offices. Lotsa Techs out there, an idea is to become both, more $$$$$$
