    Office Party

So, for our holiday party this year, the opticians will be gathering and part of the festitivies will be a "white elephant" and or "optical" gag gift gift exchange.

I'd love to give something awesome and creative ... but I'm NOT!

    :finger:

    What would YOU give?

At my old office, we have Chinese Gift exchange. Basically, all of the gifts are unmarked. You go up and select one, and you have to take what you got. The second person can either choose a gift or steal the first persons gift. It goes on like that. If someone has their gift stolen, they have the right to choose a gift or steal one.

Anyway, I wanted so badly to buy Brokeback Mountain. Does not matter how PC you are, no guy wants Brokeback Mountain, but the girls tend to like it. So the guy would have to bring it home, because his wife was there and made him. He would have to put it in his DVD library for everyone to see.

But I did not have the guts to walk into a store and buy the movie myself.

Several funny gifts I have done:
    - I do a calendar of myself. Last year I did it for one friend, it became such a success that I am now doing it for 6.
    - Mugs with pictures on it. I got a friend and his wife a picture of each of their weirder friends
    - Bad movies
    - Bad t-shirts

I've been to a re-gifting office party before. It's a fabulous way to get rid of something you just don't want, with *little* chance of the giver ever knowing what you did. :D
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

I once ended up with a small table top whisk broom and tray. Weirdest thing around for a "white elephant" but my husband loves it for his Train tables. who knew.......

Ooooh I love the way your sick little mind works, muwahahaha!

Long ago I worked at an Irish pub as a line cook/cocktail waitress. We used to have a secret santa gift exchange and the tradition was that the gifts were to come from a porn shop. The girl I got was a waitress (and a school teacher by day!!!!) who was notorious for getting drunk and then dancing on the bar or tables. One year she got so drunk she fell of the bar and gave herself a concussion. Knowing this, I went to the shop and bought her a strip-tease kit that included pasties and a how-to DVD. When it came time to present the gift I made a little speech in front of the rest of the crew, talking about how I knew how much she liked to dance on the bar and how I thought I had gotten her the perfect gift.

She then got all excited and squealed, "Ooh a helmet?"
