    6ES probing problems

First yes I have called Optronics on this and they are not sure what exactlly could be causing my problem

After I have been running one of my edgers most of the day I start having probe errors.
I get the message that the probe tips have fallen off.
After pulling the job back down and probing first it "usually" probes and cuts it just fine.

Optronics has given my several things to check for. I am just checking to see if anyone else has had a similar problem. My voltage is fine, but one of the driver chips does feel to be much hotter then the others. I have swapped the driver chips around to see if that takes care of the problem but the same slot gets hot not the same driver chip.

any help would be much appreciated

Make sure the screws on the probe are tight, this caused mine to be off. Make sure your cabinet is clean. I'm curious, what are driver chips and where are they located?

Yea everything along that line is good, but thanks sometimes it the little things we miss.
The driver chips are on the right hand side when you open the hood. They are the drivers for Axis, size, bevel. They are prone to heat damage over time kinda like a CPU in your computer. Heat and dust are the 2 worst things for any electronic

ok I think I have it figured out.
probe speed was a litte to fast and the max velocity for the axis gear box was a bit high. The lower axis power was causing a jump in the rotation because of the deflection in the gear box caused by the lower axis power.
just thought I'd post my solution in case anyone else comes across the problem

I guessing you also did a vertical alignment on the probes?
I had a problem with the carriage shimmying from left to right as it was being probed. Swapped servos, no good, finally replaced the left side gear box and that fixed it.

Yes I did check that as well, but thanks for the suggestion.
I find a lot of times when I cant figure out a problem go back and double check the simple things.

I had a problem where one of my edgers wouldn't turn back on after I did some work and had to reboot it, after a half hour of checking things I went and checked the breaker to find out for some reason the breaker popped
