    Want to buy 4T tracer

I am still running a very very old school Horizon III from National Optronics :o and need a tracer that will trace frames with a smaller B (maybe down to a 23B). Currently have a Saturn NP but it will only go down to a 28B. The Horizon III uses a Arc Net connection (looks a lot like a coax cable). Does anyone have a 4T tracer or a tracer that has has Arc Net connection available for purchase?

Will your edger actually be able to go that low in the B? Some of those older ones won't cut a B smaller than about 30. But I think someone made a conversion kit for that model to enable it to cut smaller lenses. No, wait that was the Horizon II - never mind.

Yes, DragonLensmanWV, my edger will edge all the way down to a 23 eye without a problem. Horizon III deffinately had major improvements over the previous Horizons but it is still ancient ;-).

23B on a Horizon 3? are you sure?...but you really would benefit from the 4T tracer anyway as the old Saturn tracers can't quite trace rectangular shapes accurately, nor wraps. Used 4Ts are becoming common. You might try Barry Sheperd. There are many references to him on here...and there happens to be a few on eBay right now also.

The H3 is a very good machine, just somewhat limited in today's standards. You may be able to do even a smaller B when the machine is in re-cut mode. The issue with the small B on the machine is when it probes the lens blank, at the start of the cycle, when re-cut it does not probe the lens. Watch when you buy a 4T that it is set up with the ARCNET connection. There are 4T's that support both ARCNET an serial, 4T's with serial only, and 4T's with ethernet only (Walmart). I may have a machine ready to go soon. If you need parts for H3 may be able to help, Optronics no longer supports the machine.
