    Confused update OfficeMate 9.0

Anyone out there that has been thru this update and have suggestions on how to make it more user friendly? It has been a trying 4 weeks. Begining to think we have a corrupt update. OfficeMate has suggested if any one complains they will switch us back to 8.2!!!!! So much for the tax incentive.

Interesting that our user names are so similar.

We just updated this weekend, so far it seems like it has to many changes. The previous version worked just fine!
    Properly medicated for your protection.

Yes, it sure does have a lot of changes. Not just your minor update. Support has not been to great from OM. Had to slow daily schedule down a little for adaption and we shouldn't have to do that. Othere offices helping more than support. Some how seems we have more questions than om has answers.

Our office has had it for about 4 weeks, and it has been a nightmare. OM support is not great - their consultants don't even know how to manage some of the features. Our IT guy is constantly in touch with them to try to make it work correctly. We were told that if we went back to the old version we would lose all the data we had entered on the new one, and that OM couldn't guarantee support for the older version beyond 2011. I guess we are all "Beta Testers" -This was released with so many bugs it's a joke. The drop-downs don't work properly, hard to integrate w/ Vision Web, and I could go on and on. Stay away until the old version disappears! That one worked just fine!

Yikes! My office is going through the (mandatory?) training videos before we upgrade. I hope they've worked out the bugs before we go live. I'm sure I'll reference back to this thread when we do!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

The thing you have to remember with OfficeMate Enterprise (v9) is that it is NOT an update of OM8, it's the OfficeMate name on an update of another product that OM acquired. It's a little easier to wrap your head around the adaptation if you know that you are essentially learning a new operating system more than learning an upgrade of a previous one.

That said, our office was one of the first to get it (back in July) and I concur that it's a train wreck of a program. As many bugs and glitches as OM8 had, they were manageable. OM9 is a catastrophe, a mess of work-arounds, patchwork solutions and compromises. We're at a point where it's tolerable to work with now, so I can at least say that it DOES get easier, my friends. Or at least it seems that way.

Yeah, the training videos are hilariously useless.

can you please back up this statement. ive been using OM8 and i am using OM9 for 2 month now. right now i am at 9.0.11 version.
I must agree that "scheduler " is completely different and i am not sure if its better then the old one. Adding frames and printing lables --"Sucks" . but, for people who want to do a electronic billing this version much better. of cause it takes time to type all info to get it working properly but if you enter all data correctly everything works just fine.
"commitions" report is better . Definately takes time to get use to it, no dought!

I've heard quite a few folks that had a hard time even getting the upgrade to complete.

I did upgrade myself and didnt have any problems. Starting from sierver to my 8 stations including ER. wasnt a really big deal as long as you follow instractions.
I really hope they change a few things and some bugs of cause.

I can't point you to a URL or anything, I can only tell you that IT folks at OM told my doctor and me this a couple months ago. This explains why the entire job entry and fee slip interface is different. It became a bit easier to learn how to use it once we stopped assuming that old techniques would logically transfer to the new version.

And can ANYONE get it to work with VSP like it's supposed to? We have simply given up.
