You can actually tint a pair of lenses in 3-4 minutes to a 70% absorbtion range, after having decided to do so. Dye goes from cold to hot in 2 minutes in Microwave oven and tints the lens in another 60 seconds. Poly and high index tint to dark shades in 4-8 minutes.
