A word of warning: Avoid Elavon like the plague.

We had a rash of chargebacks at the end of last year, which flagged out account with Elavon, and they took funds from our account and held back deposits on us for a "Security Deposit". I immediately terminated our account with them, changed bank accounts and started working with Heartland Payment Systems.

Its now going on 9 months and I still haven't seen the refund of the "Security Deposit". I've called multiple times and all I get is the automatic runaround: "I will send an e-mail to the Security Department and they will call you." I did an internet search on them and found multiple complaints from other merchants with exactly the same story -- one of them for $120K taken out in one single day!

Heartland is an awesome company to work with, my rates are extremely competitive (I think I'm paying an average of 2.97%), their customer service is beyond excellent. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a new merchant servicer.

Yeah, we were with Heartland for a long time until our reps left to do their own independent company with better rates, so we switched and it's worked great.
