Looking at this and wondering if it is net workable. I keep 2 opticians busy and don't want to bottle neck our process.
Any users have some feedback? Is it super quick and not an issue, or do you also use it to show lens enhancements?
TIA

I believe the i-terminal is stand-alone, not networkable. We use one in our office and it is "ok". I really prefer to take manual measurments, but as long as the frame is adjusted properly prior to the photo it's pretty accurate. We have broken one of the plastic devices that latches on to the frame and it is quite expensive to replace. It's a nice piece of technology for patients to see. We also use it to show patients lens enhancements, tints which they like
Not sure if you can network it or not. It looks like there are interfaces on it for that type of conectivity. Right now we're using it mostly for measurements regarding the customized individual and for showing enhancements.
You definitely want to preadjust your frame before taking measurements but I find that the measurements are extremely accurate as long as you don't have more than 4 degrees worth of head rotation during the shot anyways.
At first I was a bit leary because it's very particular about where the patient stands for the shot. But once you figure out how to line them up and when to click for the shot it's actually kind of fun. I've definitely warmed up to it now that we've been using it for 6 mos or more.

Update. Pulled out the handy dandy manual and it looks like it's definitely networkable.
"Networking allows the use of multiple client machines simultaneously. The images must be taken at the i.terminal itself. Once the front and profile image have been taken at the i.terminal the consultation and/or centration can take place at a client computer." Direct from the manual.
requirements for networking are;
-Internet explorer 6.0 or higher (vista excluded)
-Minimum pentiumIII with 512mb storage
-100 Mbit bandwidth network.

:o) It's always best to break out the manual! I will also add that our staff took a while to warm up to it but its fun and patients like it. I completely concur with the head rotation comment. We had to have Zeiss come out and do a refresher on the use of the equipment and they are always very helpful and have the right answers to the problems we present.
Carl Zeiss Vision has already implemented network integration with major practice management software vendors, including OfficeMate and MaximEyes, and we plan to continue to work with additional software vendors in the future. Integration with Compulink is planned for the next software release. To learn the extent to which i.Terminal offers network integration with your particular software at this point, I would recommend contacting your local Carl Zeiss Vision business development representative.
Best regards,
