My daughter's cat brought home this snake for her :) Does anyone know what kind of snake it is?

Looks like a garter snake.
I agree- looks like a common garter snake. Not harmful, good bug eater, not particularly aggressive, though I have had a few try repeatedly to bite me when I held them, but their tiny teeth just bounce off. They can make decent pets once they get tame and used to being handled, but expect a few odorous discharges at first.

I always wanted a pet snake, but my mother told my father that if he got one she'd move out. She hates snakes, apparently her brothers used to throw them at her or something.

Love is a duet, each voice complementing each other and making them sound better than they would alone, each voice at times stepping back and letting the other shine. We've got a pretty good duet going Tina.

Chocalate, pretty neat, but how did the cat carry home the trash can
