What insurance company are frame reps using to insure their frames?

Was wanting to get some information on how frame reps are insuring the frames that they carry. I know some of you have been in the industry awhile so you may have some awesome advice.

    Cheers and thanks!

Assuming that you are referring to insuring the eyewear samples that you schlep around in your car their loss or damage should be covered by your auto insurance policy although I would verify this with your insurance carrier. Losses while in transit between the manufacturer/vendor and yourself are covered by the common carriers insurance while other losses are typically insured by the company whose product you are carrying.

In BC samples in your car are not covered by your auto insurance. You can add a rider to your home policy for a home based business that will cover them. It was cheaper to do it that way than to take out a separate business policy. Some frame companies insure their samples but make the rep pay the deductible if they get stolen.

At the two frame companies I've worked for, they deduct a monthly amount from my commission (I think it's $35) and use their own insurance company...I'm not sure who it is.
