I'm pretty new to the world of Eye Care. My background is in consumer packaged goods and technology working in Social Media and Public Relations. I'm now the marketing manager for an optometrist that has two practices in the mid-west. I'm also learning the ropes on being a technician so I have those skills as well.
I've quickly come to the realization that health care is a slightly different beast than other industries I'm used to when it comes to social media. I have setup a Blog, Facebook page and Twitter account with more social media branches planned and a rock solid content schedule. However, would any one be willing to share effective tips on how they let their patients know about their social media spaces? Do you post something in the office? Send out newsletter with that information? Incentivize reviews and followers with discounts? I don't want patients to feel like their information is being violated, but my goal is to keep eye care in the forefront of their minds so they don't neglect their eyesight.
Conversely, if anyone needs help on steps on where to begin, I'd be more than willing to share!
I look forward to joining the discussion here at Optiboard.
