    Double vision with myopic script

    Good morning,

I'm trying to get clarity on a condition with the following symptoms.

    - Patient with mild myopia. Glasses only used when needed- driving, television etc.
    - Approx 50% of day spent at computer (without glasses), no vision problems during day. Mild headaches common.
    - On occasion leaving work in evening, and wearing script, stuggle with diplopia. This particularly for very near images (dashboard, wristwatch etc.). Diplopia not present through single eye, only with binocular vision.
    - Diplopia disappears as soon as glasses removed.
    - After a few hours, diplopia seems to disappear with myopic script.
    - Normal vision returns in morning.
    - Patient has difficulty wearing contact lenses- problem is immediately exacerbated.

Does anyone have experience with these symptoms, and can reccommend a possible diagnosis, treatment method?

    Thanks
    PL

More information? Age of patient, lens powers in detail, please.

Also, if you are a consumer, please re-read posting rules of the forum.

    That's what makes me wonder.

Interesting ,the first thing I would do is check the script on the glasses. Then check all the measurements pd and pana.

My immediate first response would be to check pd's etc (even though they are a "mild" myopic). However, it's disconcerting that the problem is exacerbated with contacts... hmm...

Not likely, contacts causing same issues.

Either PD is correct and that's the actual problem or fortyitius has set in.

Sounds like he ought to be wearing the glasses more to reduce the strain that's probably behind the double vision. Also sounds like he should head back to his ECP and talk to them about it.

if i understand correctly diplopia only happen after a day work when looking at near object, right? i suggest you to look into the:
    1. phoria at near
    2. Accommodation status
    3. prescription
    4. current medical status

As mentioned by Uncut, we need more info..
