    9-11 six Months Later

I watched and listened to all the press coverage of the 9-11 anniversary and paused for the moments of silence, but it still seems like a dream. That if I close my eyes tight enough it will be.

I wondered how all you Optiboarders feel now 6 months later.

    Wink 9-11

    Hey all

I saw this and had to say something. I have changed since then, mental and spiritualy.

I have made changes in my life, because tomorrow may never come and its time we live our lives. I will go back to school and get a degree in something, I will learn to overcome my fear of singing in public, and will be stronger in standing up for myself.

I watched everything and hoped we had all learned something. I hope we have learned to reach our hands out to others, love intensely thoose around us, forgive others that have hurt us in petty ways, and never forgot the day all of our lives changed.

I guess I got a little carried away(oh well poop happens:)

    Later all

    Christina

I watched the film last night...

I watched the film last night and saw the most compeling 2 hours I've ever seen on TV, and that includes the coverage of the Kennedy assasination.Perhaps because it was so recent.I relived the same sense of emptiness and helplessness I felt then (nov 22ndand 9/11).I am reasonably sure most who watched or will watch that film will feel the same way.We discussed it at dinner tonight. My wife had not seen the film, and is watching it as I write.Part of me wants to go downstairs and watch it again, and part of me says ....wait awhile.I can't help but admit to feeling an incredible anger.I want to cause the perpatrators to feel the way I do.I really don't care about political correctness anymore. We should do whatever it takes to get even, without regard for anyone who happens to be, or get in the way.My conscience tells me this is wrong but my psyche tells me not to worry until the body count reaches 3063 innocents, plus those 200 odd souls in the pentagon, and those on the plane-minus the guys with the box cutters.I am ashamed of the way I feel but am unaplogetic. It is not the American way.....but we are not the America we used to be either. The fabric of our lives and our society has been changed forever.I can never forgive the *******s that did this to us.I will carry this feeling with me the rest of my life.Thats the real tragedy.I'm going downstairs......I can't stop myself.hj

Let us be reminded that as our days pass on, one by one, there are those that continue to defend our days one by one.

    Unhappy I watch

and feel the pain. I still see the images and have a hard time swallowing. The interviews of the families that have been torn apart by the cowardly acts of terrorists hurts deeply. We had closure when we caught Tim McVeigh and his cohorts but still the search for closure in the 9-11 cowardly acts goes on and I strongly support . Those who feel they have won by these actions have another think coming!!!!! They have only drawn us closer together and more determined to rid this world of the vermin they are. Jo's picture is perfect!

Mississippi will always burn as long as we have the federal government gerimandering our voting districts to keep people like Benny C. Thompson in power. Now that we are losing a congressman, the feds are at it again to insure that he and his like are forced upon us. He couldn't be elected dogcatcher if the districts were fairly drawn. You should see thier "tornado" districting plan. You won't know what district you are in for years, it skips from different sides of the street to pick up Democrats.

As to reparations for the families of the fallen in N.Y. Time was the males were given a uniform and rifle to get even. Now we make them millionares. We criticise the Red Cross for holding the excess funds for future disasters, we want them all not just to be kept from poverty, we want them to be millionaire and let the next disaster take care of itself. A fallen sodier's family gets $6,000 bucks, half of which is taxable.

Does this make me angry, you bet.

I can't speak to your local problems

    Chip,
I can't speak to your local problems because I know nothing about them. One thing I AM certain of however, is that those problems are solved in the ballot box, NOT the gun store. When you come to the realization that WE are the Federal Government you will have taken a giant step."We have met the enemy and they is US!" Pogo, late 60's.

Can't solve it at the ballot box if you folks from up Nawth (the power behind the federal governent rig the ballot box (gerimandering). Of course I also hate manditory helment laws, seat belt laws, and forced bussing. We don't seem to be able to solve these things in court either with Tom Daschle haveing the yea and nea on our judicial appointments.

Remember the founding fathers wrote the second ammendments because they were afraid that government might have to be changed with a gun. (And no I don't belong to any right wing militarist groups.

I was astounded when I read this....

    http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...ijackers_visas

Evidently two of the terrorists that flew into the world trade centers were given visas to be here in the US mailed AFTER they hit the trade center.

Two of the terrorists on the Pentagon plane lived in Bridgeport, CT for awhile and the guy who got them fake VA drivers licenses lived in Bridgeport and worked in a computer store right on Main Street. I used to live in Bpt. up until Summer of last year and have been by that store many times. It just leaves you wondering.

Since We'll all be Irish on Sunday...

As a Beam O'er the Face of the Waters (1859)

to the tune of Aislean an Oigfear

    http://www.standingstones.com/midi/aislean.mid

As a beam o'er the face of the waters may glow,
While the tide runs in darkness and coldness below,
So the cheek may be ting'd with a warm sunny smile
Though the cold heart to ruin runs darkly the while.

One fatal Remembrance, one sorrow that throws
Its bleak shade alike o'er our joys and our woes,
To which life nothing darker or brighter can bring,
For which Joy has no balm, and Affliction no sting:—

Oh! this thought in the midst of enjoyment will stay,
    Like a dead leafless branch in the summer's bright ray;
The beams of the warm Sun play round it in vain—
It may smile in his light, but it blooms not again!
Again, since we are all Irish this weekend, to quote that Staten Island fireman at the celebrity music benefit: "Osama Bin Laden, my name is fireman Moran and you can kiss my royal Irish as*!"
