New Comfort Short vs. Ellipse :Which lens wins?

Has anyone tried the New Comfort Short? and also worn the Ellipse? How do they compare? Especially in the intermediate.

Varilux's overlapping lens offerings (I think they have almost 38 progressives total)makes their product mix confusing.

I know that the new "Enhanced" line will replace the 360's, but will the Comfort Short replace the Ellipse? I am guessing the Panamic will be extinct soon.

The new Comfort Short uses the same molded blank as the new comfort but digitally changed to have a lower fitting height. The new comfort short will have a wider distance field, intermediate ( from what i remember, i know i should look it up for you but..) and reading than the Ellipse as well as a number of enhancements for today's lifestyle. Look for it to replace the ellipse in completely in about a years time. why wait start fitting now.
I might suggest making sure your lab does digital in house as it give them more control and consistency when processing your jobs.
What is confusing about the bread and butter line up of Varilux? (New)Comfort, comfort short and Comfort Enhanced. Physio, Physio Short and Physio Enhanced. (or do the Comfort DRX and Physio DRX if you want the design on the back in stead of the front). Pending release of these in model and all materials.
What makes it hard is people will not stop dispensing the (to many) old designs/models.
    panamic is dead.

Comfort wins by default. Ellipse will disappear soon...with Panamic...and Everything 360. There will likely be 2 basic platforms for Varilux - Physio and Comfort - in standard, short and enhanced designs eventually.

Tony is right. Our ELOA rep was in today and basically said the Essilor (For the Varilux brand) is going with a Physio and Comfort two pronged approach with their offerings. 360 is on it's way out along with the "old" Comfort and eventually the Panamic. The Physio will have the WAVE and the Comfort will be just "digital".
