Younger Optics And Transitions Optical Offer New Training Material -- “More Choices”

(TORRANCE, CA — July 2010) No one pair of lenses can provide a patient with all of the essential vision care they need. To help get this message out to the eyecare community, Younger Optics and Transitions Optical have teamed up to create the “More Choices” brochure, a new training and sales tool that introduces the concept of essential everyday and sunwear lenses as part of a patient’s total vision solution. This book can be used to help ECPs and their patients better understand that everyday lenses and sun wear lenses are complementary, not competing products.

The booklet compares and contrasts two essential everyday lenses (Transitions® and Transitions® XTRActive™) with two essential Sunwear lenses (Drivewear® Transitions® SolFX™ and NuPolar® Polarized). The reader can find more information on each product via easy-access tabs:

    • Who is the product for?
    • Why would a patient want this product?
    • What does it look like when a patient looks through the lenses?
    • What does the patient look like with the lenses on?

The “More Choices” brochure is also helpful in getting patients to understand the differences between products often perceived as similar, and in initiating dialogue to find which lenses are right for them. For example:

    • Drivewear Transitions SOLFX vs. NuPolar lenses – They are both polarized but one is photochromic, too. Does your patient spend a lot of time outdoors? Driving?
    • Original Transitions lenses vs. Transitions XTRActive lenses – Both types of Transitions lenses adapt to changing light outdoors, but one has a slight tint indoors and is darker in sunlight. Which Transitions lens is better suited to your patient's activities?
    • Transitions lenses and sunwear – Yes, Transitions lenses adapt to changing light outdoors to darken, but they are not a sunglass replacement. When are polarized lenses best and how can Transitions lenses complement sunwear to provide your patient with the best vision solution?

The “More Choices” brochures are available now at no charge through your area Younger Optics lens consultant, or by contacting Erin Zonta: ezonta@youngeroptics.com.
Younger Optics is headquartered in Torrance, CA, and is recognized as the world leader in prescription polarized lenses with its NuPolar® brand. For more information about Younger Optics, NuPolar lenses and other products, visit the company’s web site at www.youngeroptics.com.
