I have been using remote tracing since about 1996, first the Vision Link system and now the Optronics 4T system. I love it. The lenses come to me on size and ready to mount. Turnaround time is relatively short. An uncut job saves me money, but costs me time and since I am a one-person shop, time is money too. I still have my trusty Briot 2002 and will edge lenses if I have time or in an emergency. 95% of my work is traced.
