    Thoughts on essilor cle070 autolensmeter

My lab has the cle070 auto as a loaner piece of equipment. Haven't gotten to use it yet, but the marking pens look flimsy, with no way to calibrate. Anyone have long term experience with this machine? Durability? Reliability?

I'm resurrecting this not too old thread to see if anyone else has any experiences they'd like to share on the machine.

We're also trying it out, and so far it works ok for spot up/first inspection work. However, it has no way to check for veritcal prism in a pair of glasses :hammer:.This prevents it from being able to be used for final inspection, and I can't see it being useful at all at the ECP level. Another fine Essilor product:shiner:.
There are rules. Knowing those are easy. There are exceptions to the rules. Knowing those are easy. Knowing when to use them is slightly less easy. There are exceptions to the exceptions. Knowing those is a little more tricky, and know when to use those is even more so. Our industry is FULL of all of the above.

That was my assessment as well. Worthless for inspection and poor for spot up in that it was slow, awkward, too tall, and there was no way to calibrate the pins, which were flimsy.
