Are there any issues here? My former rep quit because of the take-over. I will go to the pro forum if better.

We have issues!!! Ok, not really part of this thread...ours is a rep who thinks she can continuely send large orders (which we never order) to our four locations and then never return our calls. The kicker, Tura refuses to take back these "orders" without an RA. We have been leaving messages with the rep and her boss....I have a feeling our account will be on hold with Tura for nonpayment of a 10k unpaid invoice....
I keep forgetting that Tura is still in business...

Does this mean they are buying Eschenbach, or just the rights to distribute Humphreys and Brendel in the US?

Tura and Eschenbach Group to merge. Tura has been active on both the U.S. and Canadian markets for more than 70 years as one of the top providers of eyeglass frames and sunglasses.
Thanks! What sort of product do Tura provide, I've never heard of them! Will we start seeing it here in the UK do you think? And do we want to....
Actually, it's the other way around - Tura's being bought. We sell lots of moderately expensive Tura frames to our old ladies that have been wearing Tura for 30 years.

Eschenbach Group Acquires Tura Eyewear
December 2, 2009 9:00 AM
MUNICH—The Eschenbach Group of Nuremberg has acquired U.S.-based eyewear company Tura, effective Nov. 30, 2009, according to a joint announcement from the two companies. The purchase price was not disclosed.
We sell a lot of Tura. It's a good company, with pretty good value.
They have a memory metal line which is pretty good.
They have a quite nice elegant ladies' line which is very, very good (although the niche is shrinking).
They have some solid pediatric frames.
They have two or three "designer" lines: Ted Baker, Lulu Guinness, and a retro line called Goldfinch, all with nice suns.
It's a quite solid core company, without entanglements and without premium license fees attached.
