    Creepy Crawlees?

I often check the "Who's Online" function of Optiboard. Everytime I do, I see several things that creep me out. I assume these are devices that scan websites to find email addresses and such to spam, but I am not sure. Here are examples of what I am talking about:

    MSNBot Spider

    YaHoo! Slurp Spider

Can someone educate me as to what these are? Thanks!

The spiders are mostly there to index the page and it's contents so they can be found by search engines.

Most forum software and BBS sites have search engine accounts set up for their spiders to index the pages. I know the big three (Bing, Yahoo, Google) all have accounts basically everywhere to allow them to get behind login walls.
