Hello All,
We have been dispensing the Individual PAL from Zeiss for a little over a year now and we've stumbled across a disconcerting occurrence. We've had nearly 100% positive feedback for this lens; however, there is a small number of people (and the number is beginning to grow) for whom this lens just doesn't work. This in and of itself is not necessarily a reason for panic (although I believe there are very few people who cannot adapt to today's progressives). What is causing concern is that every single one of these patients that experience problems have hyperopic prescriptions. We tried speaking directly to an engineer at Zeiss and their response was that there is no reason why we should be experiencing this phenomenon. One patient's problems were fixed when we put her in a Varilux Ellipse (which of course is not on the same level as the Individual). After countless redos, we've decided to not fit any hyperopic presbyopes with this lens. There has to be a solution to this problem - or at the very least an explanation. Help!
