Issues with cFile/iFile

Anyone out there having issues with this program crashing? I know of 3 offices (mine included) where it is crashing frequently, always "error 1602"

Only issue I have heard occurs when your network has more than 4-5 computers, or if you shut down in the middle of something like OHIP submission.

If you are referring to MFC's contact your software support people or is cFile and iFile an application.

cFile and iFile are different versions of practice management software by MSFCI. It is fairly common in Canada largely due to the low price. Support from the company largely consists of "You have a hardware problem, my software is fine." I'm just looking to see if anyone else is having these issues and trying to find a solution.

We have a network with multiple computers and have the same problems you are having. When MSF would return our phone calls, they said it was "a hardware problem, not a software problem." Have you been able to find a solution to the problem or is it still going on? We also get error code 1602. Thank you.

Ha ha! Nice to know that even though it's been 8 years since I've had to suffer through iFile, they still have the same customer "support". Hope you guys have figured it out.

Just thought I'd resurrect this thread in case anyone is still having difficulties. The issue is an interaction between cFile and Microsoft Security Essentials. Apparently MSE corrupts the database. Change antivirus software and the problem goes away immediately.

Hi Ory,

I am planning on opening a new office that will have 5-7 computers networked. I am thinking of using I-file for my EMR mainly due to low cost, simplicity and I already use it at my workplace (not networked - just on one computer and no dispensary)

I have been hearing some bad things about I-file once it is networked. What is your opinion? Any other issues or problems once you figured out the anti-virus issues? How many computers do you have networked?

Any advice appreciated.
