  • Optician state association members, could you identify yourself and your State ?

    Hi all,

We have some serious issues to discuss and would like to identify anyone who sits on a State Association Board. Could you give your state and position on the board?

    Lets hear from MA!

Jerry, I've sent this to a couple of friends who are active in the Opticians Assn of Massachusetts.Hopefully you will get some input from them.To avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest, I support the OAM, but I am not a member.Good luck in your quest.May all the windmills be behind you!

            Thanks Judy

We can collect info and find some issues we all can work on without overlapping our efforts.

I'm not on the state board, but I can put you in contact with someone who is (the probably aren't too computer literate, though.) I'm a Licensed Optician from Arizona, and a member of the Arizona Association of Dispensing Opticians (AADO)

Thanks that would be great. So far we have Massachusetts, Virginia, Arizona and Ohio. I hope to hear from more of you. The ideas we gather should help create a better understanding of what goals we should focus on and how to achieve them.

                        Mass pratical

Hi I am ABo certified and in the process of applying to get my Mass state license. This year they have changed the regulations to include a pratical exam. Does anyone have any infomation of what that exam my involve and what areas I'll need to brush up on before taking the exam. I've worked in an optical lab for the past 10 years on a part-time basis. Previously I worked as a sample maker for a deceased frame company. I have some some despensing but not on a full-time basis.
Thank you for any help you may have.
                        Tom
