We have a new O.D. in our independant optical store. I'm looking for realistic suggestions on how I can promote the O.D. Obviously the more the O.D. does, the more the Optical will do. Look forward to your suggestions. Marketing is a weakness of ours.

Have the doctor offer to do a free column for the local paper.
Check around to see what other doctors charge and undercut their prices slightly. (Years ago I worked for a place that did this.)
we're still re-building the town, but very much geting there. It was devastating what Hurricane Charley did.
The best thing you can do is advertise, advertise, advertise anywhere it's free or really cheap and keep it up.
This is a repeat, but maybe worth repeating...
We recently had a grand opening where we had FREE EXAMS for the entire month. It was wildly successful, and gave us a nice chunk of change in the bank to do some more advertising. (Our OD is independent, so I paid her a flat rate for those days)

Second largest is word of mouth, so you may want to send out a mailing to all present spec customers.
