    Younger Image

    An idea/question...

I know Image is available in more combinations probably any other lens...

    My question:

Is there a way to find the percentage of image sold in

    % Polarized
    % Transitions

Take those 2 numbers and compare it to competitors with a similiar lenses also available in both transitions and polar.

I'm assuming you will find image will have a much higher percentage of polar PAL sales compared to other manufacturer because a lot of opticians love the distance of the image for sunglasses but opt for a softer design in the everyday glasses. I know that's the my case anyway.

Is there younger new image somewhere in the works with a slightly softer design?

Braheem24, that is actually a very astute observation. Yes, Image® does sell a much higher percentage in Sunwear than the other brands mainly because of the point you bring up which is the clear distance above the 180. By the way, that also helps make the Image a great all around design for clear/Transitions® products also because remember the wearer probably spends 85% of their time in the distance zone anyways.

What purpose would you most like to the softer Design for?

A softer design will offer a wider intermediate, less swim in the near, easier adaptation to first time wearers and one more reason to purchase from 1 vendor as well as offer independant labs a fighting chance, they will in return deliberatly patronize thier competitor's competitor.

One of your competitors has made it thier specialty into positioning themselves as the progressive innovators. Progressives are the only lenses increasing in value. Offering a one size fits all is shooting yourself in the foot when your competitors are flooding the market with self praising literature of thier latest and greatest offerings every month.
