I have been hearing rumors about a new version of Trilogy, or Trivex, that is being developed with an index of 1.60.
Is there any truth to this? If so, is Younger leading the development?

if this is true, it could be huge...

PPG and the lenscasters are always trying to improve the properties of its materials. Remember, any time you try to improve one property, such as raising indexes, a chance is taken of diminishing another property. Unfortunately, life works like this. But the question is a good one, if you were to try and improve Trivex/Trilogy, what would you do?
I was sent a private message on here today, from a fellow Optiboard member- Pro/supporter, about this very topic. I was told that the material is available and developed in Asia.
Interesting.
I agree- thinner would be nice, even if the ABBE drops to say, 38. Still make it better than anything else. Shoot for that- 1.60 or higher index, ABBE above 36.
I've not had a single one yellow, but have had several frontside hard coats look like it was infested with worms.

This is a tough question for me since I really believe that Trivex/Trilogy® really is a great compromise between the two. If you start lowering the abbe very much you start to lose optics, and impact resistance is such a core benefit of Trivex/Trilogy® I hate to compromise on that.
I really believe Trilogy hits that very special "sweet spot" of properties for what it is. A balance between strength, optics, and weight.
Hint to Dave - refresh your browser after posting so yours will show up. Might help with the duplicate posting.
Also, I would accept an ABBE of 38 with a higher index and the same impact strength.
