I haven't downloaded it so I can not comment on its content.

My favorite technical book (when I taught Optincianry) was and is Clincal Optics by Fannin/Grosvenor. It is beyond the basics, but is a great resource for many years!

You may want to look at Open Optix, available from the Laramy K website. Excellant work and continually updated

Experience is the hardest teacher. She gives the test before the lesson.
The one book I remember was the B&L Job Coach might be
a little out dated but the basic principles are the same. An expert is one who learns from his or her mistakes and is not afraid to admit it and learn from those mistakes while all the time asking questions to be better at his or her trade.
nooksak, what was on the test that wasn't covered? I know the organizer of the project, Keith Benjamin, would like to include material on any subject that may be on the exam.
the biggest thing was lab tools, I have never worked at a place that had an in store lab and had never even heard of some the tools...also some formulas that did not seem to be covered...wish i could be of more help but over all it was good...
Yup, still have my B&L Job Coach and my boob from AO. I keep them both on a shelf in my den next to my Grolman.
"Coimhéad fearg fhear na foighde"
from AO and loaned them out. There were the 4 and an extra, geometric optics book, I think. At any rate, never got them back, so I don't loan anymore. I did purchase the set of 4 a few years back. They are the same. Good for study purposes back then and not so bad now.
NAO is re-doing a review book that should be available shortly. It will follow the ABO job analysis.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
The AO manual is what I used in the beginning. I have the Job Coach, but would still like to have the AO again.
