Post Why not OTG safety vs. Rx safety?

I am a strong believer that Over The Glass (OTG) protective eyewear is strictly a temporary solution for impact protection that should be used mainly for visitors and new employees (or ones that have broken their safety rx).

Does anyone know of articles that have been written and/or studies that have been done to quantify the effectiveness of OTG as alternative to a proper Rx safety program?

I am looking for some objective information that I can offer people that are weighing the investment in a Rx safety eyewear program vs. "just making them wear OTG".

I understand why it is not an effective alternative (comfort, fit, fogging, etc), but a third-party opinion would lend credibility to the argument.

    Thanks!
