Blue Jumper Vigor Drill - You need This!!

New Year's resoltiuon: Clean up my office. In doing so, I found a Vigor Model 195H in the closet.

It's the kind that suspends from the ceiling, has the flex hose, and the foot pedal for variable speed use.

First $125. Includes shipping in cont. US.

Damn I haven't thought about those in a long time. Ahh, back in the days where we actually repaired hidden hinges (like real opticians) instead of reordering the frame.

    Funny Story........

Back in the day when I was a young evil minded lab tech, we had a very young and pretty store manager. I did a lot of drilling with this tool and one day she sat down at my drill station to do some kind of repair.......

After about 5 minutes she tells me it doesn't work. I sit down and press the secret pedal under the desk and it works fine. She tries again with no luck. My evil mind says "you have to blow on it!!!" So she starts blowing on it!!! Still no luck. I sit down and start blowing onto the chuck hole "while secretly pressing the pedal" AND.......IT WORKS FINE.

She tries again but with this time there were about a half dozen employees watching her blow herself silly on the drill. Finally, she hands me the repair and leaves my lab in frustration!!!

    Those were the days

Was that kind of like, "the plus sign does not put more back on the lens! aka make it larger"

You think she is still "blowing today?"

I had a pretty nasty sense of humor back then. I haven't seen her in about 15 years. I hope she is not a member here!!!

Mine still works fine after 30 years, though the rheostat on the pedal has a dead spot in it. I use that thing about every day for this or that.

    HAHA........

Yea its the same tool. I was working for a company who thought hiring inexperienced store managers was a GREAT idea. I guess it did work out for them. They had a furniture store salesman rise all the way to VP of the company. My store manager was actually really nice. She was a little ditzy but I think she apprenticed and became an optician. She is probably running the company today.
