Lightbulb Test Your Connection Speed Here !

You can use the address below to see your true internet connection speed. It is the most accurate site out there to the best of my knowledge. It will take less than 1 minute in most cases. When finished it will display your results in text or you can click on the button below the text to have your results put in graph form with more detail ,along with how your speed matches up with different types of internet connections. Post your results................lets see how we all do .:shiner:

    How did your speed compare?

    download «23 kbps

    upload «22 kbps

Well considering my pc is 6 years old and was State of the Art at its time, I am pretty ok with the result, I am patient.

    Harry,
I hope at least most of the OB members give it a try . I posted the site so everyone could see if they were getting the speed that they are supposed to be getting from their ISP. Also to see how everyone's connection to the OB varies from location or country. Alas the only way to see the results to the latter is through the replies of the members.

Now see......... that's why i posted the url in the first place. To let everyone on the OB see how they were connecting.......and if they are not happy with the results they could either complain to there ISP or do something about it.

Most phone company's will not let you surpass the 52 k barrier no matter what kind of dial up modem you have. Also don't forget you are sharing a line that is sending info back and forth to the page that you are trying to view. In short....... even though you have a 56k modem your max connect speed will be less than 52k.

Yesterday it was 21 down, 23 up
    Today it's 36 down, 24 up
Is that means I just got a better modem connection today?

    Rich R..........Yes
Your modems listed max speed is not a sure fire thing. So having a faster connection today compared to yesterday is normal. Alot of things can slow down your connection though such as site traffic or even the phone company's swiching stations as thay can become bogged down too.

33down/105up (using 56k modem). I have no idea what these numbers mean, but I've always been happy with my speed (then again, I'm a happy guy).

Seriously though, I get better speed at home than at work... something about being closer to a hub or something at home.
