electonic contact lens cleaner

Has anyone heard of such a thing? Do they work? Is there a better brand?
I have a patient inquiring and any info is appreciated.

It's simply a compact ultrasound cleaner. Nothing more.
There are plenty on Ebay.
Never tried it.

Our MD's used to "prescribe" a version of ultrasonic/UV cleaner for an obscene amount of money to many of our non-compliant patients at an old practice I worked for years back. The cleaner alone was something like $750 - not counting their special "proprietary solution" (read: sterile saline) you *had* to use with the machine and the CL's themselves as well.

I think if a patient has that much trouble keeing their CL's clean, or are chronic over-wearers...stop prescribing CL's. But hey - I ain't an MD. :hammer::shiner:

Hilco makes a great ultrasonic cleaner. It used to come in 2 sizes. Mine was reasonably priced and given me over 20 years service.
