Yup
:) I am always ready for stories.
Once upon a time, in a optical shop far far away...
is that what it is? I got a couple yesterday and one so far today.
pt 1 was allegic to demons (and when I thought I had misheard and said "I'm sorry?" I got a list of types of demons - succubi, incubi, the list when on and on for a couple minutes)
pt 2 wouldn't SHUT UP, and proceeded to babble inanely for more than 30 minutes
pt 3 was intoxicated, couldn't hear very well and was apparently angry at the world. and angry at me because... you know, I don't know why she was angry at me. she was just angry at everyone.

Love is a duet, each voice complementing each other and making them sound better than they would alone, each voice at times stepping back and letting the other shine. We've got a pretty good duet going Tina.
On April 28th, I'll be marrying my best friend. I can't wait!
Well let's see... first off we had a jerk come in asking us why we didn't think that online glasses purchases were good. Then some weirdo lady that wanted to know what the difference between a Optometrist and a therapeutic OD... "does therapeutic mean vitamins?" <----- only in Austin. Then another strange request a patient calls .... she wants a gallon of lens cleaner??? Whut???
I'm telling you, weirdos... the full moon has brought them out! :hammer:

Had a woman ask me to home-deliver her brand new glasses last month because she couldn't make it due to "being in recovery." I declined and she picked them up, herself.
The same glasses were presented this week, bent about as badly as a Möbius strip.
She asked, "Why does this keep happening?"
"I don't know - what did you do to them?" I replied.
"I don't know - I think I must have been tipsy..."
<crickets>
I gotta know, did you keep a straight face? I would have to walk away :Dpt 1 was allegic to demons (and when I thought I had misheard and said "I'm sorry?" I got a list of types of demons - succubi, incubi, the list when on and on for a couple minutes)
Had a Pt. come in with his weehchair bound Wife, he hollar's who's in my Handicap parking space blocking the wheelchair ramp? another Pt. answers that would be me sir, The man say's why did you park there ? you guest it, the other man say's Im handicape sir....:hammer::hammer::hammer:

Would have been nice if you could have talked them ALL into new specs! :D
This didn't happen this week, but recently, I had a young guy come in and stand right in the middle of the doorway, I got up to greet him and he just stood there smiling......OK, so I asked how I could be of assistance, he just said "No" and smiled this big, kind of creepy smile.....OK, so I asked him if was looking for something specific, he just said "No"....still smiling.....OK, so then I just sort of looked at him, not really sure what else to do, he said "No" again, still smiling, he stood there for another 30 seconds (which seemed like an hour!) then he turned and walked out the door. Not sure what that was all about, but I was glad when he left!

Wow, there's a whole bunch of red flags there!!! Could have been scoping out the place, or you, or was really just a creep with nothing better to do!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
I am sometimes surprised and amused by the realization that.....I can be, and also do work alongside, some of the cookiest people on the planet. :hammer:
Then you hear these kinds of stories and our co-workers are Saints!![]()
Yesterday was fairly normal, but today, everythings bee just wierd. Got a 2-pair job back from the lab, they cut the lenses to plano. Another one, lenses only, redo, came back with the tracing on the invoice, but they're uncut, computer issues, issues recieving a fax from a customer's doctor...
Can't wait for quitting time...
Had px in a couple weeks ago. Didn't like progressives but had worn them for a year and decided to go into bifocals. She's been problematic in the past so I should have known this wouldn't have been easy as it should be. She has a very small distance correction. pl -50/-25 -50 with a 200 add. She said that she'd be quite happy with a plano on top and her 2 add on the bottom. I knew I could get those in a stock finished lens so I figured, great!
Found out they weren't available with a stock AR coat though so I had to have them surfaced and coated. I should have known better. I actually figured that if I was gonna have them surfaced and coated that I should do it in her actual rx. She came in on Saturday and wants them plano distance.
