Hello please. Your post make a very good sense on me. Best investment to take many moneys is buy low, sell for more than this.

    Huh?

I'm sure this is an error in translation but I can't figure out what you are trying to buy, the only thing I can't think of when I see the word Impressionist are artists like Manet, Monet, and Pisarro, who painted in the Impressionist style. And since we're in the progressive lens forum I doubt you're investing in art, so what are you trying to buy, a picture or a web link to one of the machines you are looking at would help.

You are trying to get rid of the optician

OK , now we know what you are asking, Can this machine totally replace the optician? Yes, it can replace the lazy or intelligence -challenged optician. This is a free country and you get what you pay for. Buy this machine and pay your optician's peanuts. You will find that your patients trust the skills of REAL opticians that work for your competitors. We bought a monocular PD gauge for our practice mostly because my junior colleague wanted one. Guess what? The total PD is dead on with my manual measurement. But the monocular numbers are off. It's way to easy to inadvertently twist the device or mis-align for for broken noses. Seg heights are their own problem. computer user-recommend GT2: Non-user recommend Physio. Lazy optician still recommend Comfort or Panamic. Chains recommend Ovation or Solamax. Smart opticians recommend Physio, GT2, Creation or equivalent and premier lenses such as Zeiss Individual, autograph 2 and Definity.Long -time patients look for guidance from their opticians on these products and will appreciate the improved vision. You will even get WOW'S from these advanced lenses. Another thing your machines cannot do- the Dr has prescribed a fresnel prism and the pt complains of double vision. The knowledgeable optician can neutralize that imbalance with hand-held prisms , greatly shortening the time needed spent with the DR. Other than that , buy these machines, it might help the economy!

Well, in terms of greatest investment, I think it relies within one's perspective. What do they looking for exactly? I can recommend rodenstock impression for the best comfort, but not necessarily the money because they could go up to $1,000/pair@!!!

Everything else are about the same.

I worked with a Zeiss RVT, a Zeiss Video Infral and a Rodenstock Impressionist. I prefer the RVT. Seems better in measuring more precisely :)

    Mr. Powers

Most Machines need a measuring Tool placed onto the desired frame. This looks absolutly ugly (especially to women), and for rimless frames I think this is not good because of the weight.

A Rodenstock Impressionist (Advance) does not need those gadgets!!!

(Now guess what I would prefer)
