    Confused Still learning........

........What is the difference between Abbe Value and Aberrations and chromatic aberration?

I know that Aberrations is in the lens.....like distortion....right?

Also dont understand this quote out of the OpenOptix ABO study guide..."the higher the index of a lens material, the higher the chromatic aberration, and lower the Abbe Value"

    Someone please explain.

Thank you for your comments in Advance!

Statement is not always true but a good reference if you dont have the values memorized.

The Abbe value is the measurement of the abberation, it happens to be the inverse of the amount of abberation.

Lower quality=lower abbe value is an easier way to memorize it.
