Anyone file an 837 to VSP?

I know this is nerd stuff.....
It has to do with electronics claims.
Does anyone file an 837 profesional claims file to VSP?

If you don't know what an 837 file is, that answers my question.;)

So far, VSP have been slow to respond to my questions.:hammer:

While I've never submitted a 837 to VSP (actually no one in our office can remember the last time we submitted a 837, but we still have them) I can tell you when we send in 1500s directly (as a secondary claim) we average about 3 months and 1 rejection per a claim.

    thanks for the input

    thanks JPWAYS

I actually recieved my answer from VSP about an hour ago. I now have enough info to procede.

now I feel silly for not being nerdy enough. If you "still have" an 837 then we are probably talking about 2 different things. The 837 I am working with is not a piece of paper. It is an electroinic file format for claim submission. The details are outlined in ASC X12N Transaction and associated addendum (004010X098A1). <<geek manual>>

EyeFinity has sent me the needed info. I hope to start testing in a few weeks. I know I am in a minority doing things this way. This project is geared towards Medicaid submissions where VSP/Eyefinity handle the claims. I am in WV. Most claims go direct to Unisys, but some claims are going through VSP. I'm trying to streamline submissions.
