    squeaky temples

We have a pretty picky family on our hands that calls us and tells us they the pair of glasses they've picked up from us are speaking at the temple when he closes them... :hammer: yeah, I'm puzzled too.. Anybody ever heard of that? Know any way to fix?

FYI, they've had it for less than a month.. and they came in while I was out and my coworker tried to help by loosening them, then too loose, then tighten back up.. didn't fix it this is silly to me but hey guess they don't wanna hear squeaks when they close their glasses =/

some people use 3in1 oil. I prefer to heat the hinge and melt bees wax into the hinge.

You do what you do for any squeaky hinged door, a drop of oil. You have to wonder why the dad hadn't taken them out in the garage and done that yet.

If he's compaining about a squeaky hinge, he probably doesn't have an oil can in the house.

    Just a thought.

    squeaks

a lot of this so called sqyeaking is due to residue in between the hinges in the manufacturing process. simply loosen the hinge up and clean it out good with alcohol, for fezz that means isopropyl.

if this fails you can take the hinges and with a real fine file chamfer the edges and wash out real good again with isopropyl

    Instead of Oil

I agree about checking the hinge for burrs and cleaning it with alcohol but instead of oil I use liquid handsoap or I use dawn dishwashing liquid it doesn't have any antibacterail or hand lotions which can can cause smudes and I have heard that aniti bacterials can ruin AR but I am not sure that is true, but I play it safe.

It’s so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and then don’t say it.

Blue Jumper could be the lens..................

It can also be the lens that make the noise in the frame groove if the hinge is hard to close.

Had one today that didn't stop squeeking even after oiling and working oil in. After this disappointment, it finally occurred to me to loosen the screw an eighth of a turn. Problem solved.
