Hello everybody,

Optikam Tech Inc., the makers of the Optikam dispensing system is always looking for feedback from ECPs in order to better its product.

On a sales presentation last week, one of the attendees made a comment to the effect that it would be nice if the system can calculate the difference in thickness between two lens index, based on the clients prescription. (This would allow the ECP to state with certitude the difference in millimeter.)

Here are some of my questions:

How important is this aspect in the day-to-day business of dispensing eyewear?

Does it help increase sales of thinner lenses and is this something the client really needs to know?

Does obtaining this information take time?

Does it require calling your lab if you do not edge your lenses?

Thanks in advance for reading this post. I look forward to reading your replies.
