You're right but at least the speaker could come up with a rebutal (if they were'nt at the specified location). Memories can be short and someone can mistaken a particular speaker for giving a specific course at a specific time and place.

I learn a lot about new product from some of the 'non technical' courses offered. It would be better for the group sponsoring the course to post in their flyers a synopsis of what the course will entail and who sponsors the course.

OK. I noticed this thread from the news feed on my site :D
Here's a couple of ideas to mull over.
1./ Just have a sub-forum listing the Speakers, course, dates etc. This would need someone who is up to date with education and courses to Mod most likly
2./ No replies to posts, If someone has a problem with the course or wants more info etc, they could question it in this forum (giving a link to the post would help here) Or moderated posts only. Vb does have this option, just not sure if it can be on just one forum.
3./ Vb board already has the star rating which could be used, I know its open to abuse but so is just about every other way.
I like your ideas. They seem like a feasible way to handle a great forum.

Have any further thoughts on making this into forum? My way of keeping this active. If I'm barking up the wrong tree just say so.

Thanks for the reminder Jerry. I'm up to my eyes in proverbial alligators but your prodding got me to add this to my list of things to do.

I know I am a real pest :) but how is the speaker list going? I just returned from our state convention and our local division education chairs asked me about speakers. I told them about Optiboard and that you would be posting speakers. If you need any help ask.
:D  Jerry

I would love to sign up and be listed as well. Great idea.
What courses do you give? Maybe I'll try to put speakers on our Opticians Association of Ohio site.

I haven't forgotten. This is still on my to-do list. Hopefully I do this before I leave for VEE. :)

Steve:
ABO, NCLE, and probably JACOPO and others require that a slip be turned in as each course certification is stamped. Don't know what happens to these and have doubts about thier accuracy as people tend to be overly polite in evaluations. But have we tried to contact ABO/NCLE, etc. for a list of courses and a print out of evaluations. Like: Good course should be retained 75% Bad course 12% Somwhat satisfied educational needs 13% ? Don't remember exactly what the criter are but there are four or five and either we are wasting our time filling them out or someone puts them in the computer and evaluates the courses.
I am sure that in the name of "privacy" or "confidentiality" each organization would give you a little hassle at first but it probably could be obtained.
Chip:drop:
Actually when I gave ABO classes in the past. I always got these slips returned to me. I'm not sure whether the ABO kept copies or not and whether they kept track of the results.
