Good Begining ! Trying to improve it. GK is what most assumers assume to be known by majority of the population they belong to. And Majority of the population assumes its what they accquire when some how the General Ignorance is switched off ! Generally, the Ignorance is a Bliss. Switch a Bliss off n , u are generally supposed to attain Enlightenment ! Is that better or worsened ?

The problem is that the learning and/or experience is very limited. When I think of general knowledge, I think of those who know just enough to be dangerous. GK is good only for conversation (and Trivial Pursuit).

In the 4th Std.@ our place, there is a Subject called GK. In 1970s n 80s, there used to be a GK Competition conducted by Social Organisations. Students reading News Papers and Magzines used to Excel. No books, no syllabus. Questions must Not come from School Books. Questions ranged were like, who is Prime Minsiter or President of some Nation, Name the People living in Tundras,What was the Quote by Armstrong when he stepped on the moon? What did John Loggie Bearred invented ? Yesterday 4th class stundent tested my GK by asking Q from her Rx book . Which is the Longest Snake in the world. I felt emberrased to know that Hollywood was poor source of GK, when she marked me failed to my answer Anaconda ! The trigger was set by the trivial Pursuit as u have correctly put. Then, I realised that in my life, most of the things I learnt as Main Stream Knowledge have eroded quickly after the Exams were over. I only remember the names of many many topics I lernt. What is helping me earn is some thing which is too microscopic as compaired with huge amount of So Called Mainstream Knowlege I studied . So, any thing that doesnt influence my Earning Ability is my General Knowledge accquired ignorantly and helplessly out of a Socialy enforced Generalised Education system.. Trying to elaborate my self on Just enough to be Dangerous sentence.. Seems its a practicle boundry to distinguish the Main Stream professionals and the Quacks.

After a hard days of work with numbers and trying to make some seeming adament people to understand what is sphere and cyl, what i really need is an understanding of myGK and my so called mainstream education
