Networking Events Planned for International Vision Expo West
Norwalk, CT (August 6, 2009) – As the meeting place for the vision community, International Vision Expo West, held October 1-3, at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, is pleased to announce several parties and events taking place at the show.

Second Annual Swing Fore Sight Golf Outing: Individuals and teams are invited to sign-up for Prevent Blindness America’s golf outing on Wednesday, September 30, at 7:00 a.m. at the Bali Hai Golf Club. To register, contact Kristin Romanas at kromanas@preventblindness.org.

Professional Optical Women’s Workshop: Hosted by the Optical Women’s Association (OWA), a workshop on “The Law of Selling” will take place on Wednesday, September 30, at 5:00 p.m. RSVP to owa@opticalwomen.com.

MedSci Party: Held Thursday, October 3, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. in the Medical and Scientific Pavilion, this International Vision Expo West-sponsored party is open to all who attend the exhibit hall or continuing education at the event.

Labapalooza: Jobson Publishing will host its annual Labapalooza event on Thursday, October 1, from 6:15 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Vision Monday’s 2009 Top Labs report will be released and the winners of the LabTalk Magazine’s Optical Laboratories Web Site of the Year Award and the Trash to Treasure art contest will be announced. Previously held in conjunction with the Optical Laboratories Association trade show, this is the first year the event will be held at International Vision Expo West.

OWA Cocktail Party and Networking Event: This annual OWA event features networking for members and potential members, as well as a raffle for designer accessories and premier items. It will be held on Friday, October 2, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. RSVP to owa@opticalwomen.com.

Vision Source Cocktail Reception: Members of Vision Source are invited to a networking event on Friday, October 2, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Pinot Brasserie in The Venetian.

Club Marchon: Marchon Eyewear hosts its annual industry party, complete with cocktails, music and dancing, on Friday, October 2, from 9:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. at the Flamingo Hotel. Pick up your pass Friday at the Marchon booth (#14063 and #15087).

Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO): SCCO will host an alumni and networking reception on Friday, October 2, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. at the Sands Expo & Convention Center.

UC Berkeley College of Optometry: Berkeley Optometry will host an alumni and networking reception on Friday, October 2, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. at the Sands Expo & Convention Center.
