Does anyone make or know about having custom lenses made with an IR filter that can read IR ink? The filter that is needed is the 630nm xnite filter. There is a link supplied that the patient is familiar with. http://www.maxmax.com/
Thanks,
Diane

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
Dianne:
Contact Dow Corning & Pittsburg. I haven't used one but I do recall that at least one of them had a chart and materials for filtering or making visible every tiny wave of the spectrum. I think I even have a book somewhere at home with such a chart.

Do they think that wearing an IR filter glasses will allow them to see wavelengths the eye can't see?
I had a couple of guy come in once that worked for a security systems company and they showed me these glass filters and wanted me to put them into a frame for them so they could see the IR beams of the security systems.
I explained that they would not be able to do that since the eye can't perceive that frequency, but the "knew what they were doing". So I edged them into a frame and of course they could not see the beams.
I told them they could get IR to visible converters but they thought those were too expensive. You just can't do it with a simple filter, at least not for the human eye, cameras may be different.

Diane, you wouldn't be wanting to mark your poker cards and have an un-fair advantage would you?
:D:cheers::D
Bart Smith, continuing to be awesome since 1982 so that you don't have to.
Love is a duet, each voice complementing each other and making them sound better than they would alone, each voice at times stepping back and letting the other shine. We've got a pretty good duet going Tina.
On April 28th, I'll be marrying my best friend. I can't wait!
Actually in my youth we used to make tinted contacts to see marked cards for Galveston Ballanese Room Gamblers. The best we did was one clear and one with a pupil size filter, the rest clear in case one got caught.
Available in red and blue depending on how your cards were marked.
Watch out for them diamond backs, they were the prefered marked brand.
