Question about Frames Data do you use it?

Hello all, I was curious about a few things.

Do you use the Frames/Lens books still?

Do you trust that the data is correct?

Do you use the Drill Points program? And do you find it to be accurate?

I am just wondering since there is so much available on the internet now if it is still something people find helpfull.

IMHO the lens book was decent info but many times was not up to date just looking for some other opinions.

The only data that is correct is the manufacturers website, because he can update anytime there is a change, like from 1 minute to the next.

There is a listing of optical websites I compiiled over the last few years that list's over 800 optical websites in different categories. Check it out at: http://optochemicals.com/web_listing.htm

Try clicking the "search" function on the green bar- enter Frames Data Book to find further posts as we've talked this over several times in the past.

Sorry I was just looking for some feedback as to usage. I will search better next time for sure I promise.

The one I really want to know if anyone uses is the drill points and if they have had good results.

Hi All, I am also seeking a FRAME FACTS or FRAMES DATA price book from the mid 1990's (any year and any quarter). I am willing to pay $150 for it. Please send email toDrRobert@eyeworksgroup.com if you can help. Thank you!

Take it from someone who has spent hundreds of hours researching PALs - this could not be less true. Your premise is correct, but most manufacturers websites are badly outdated and almost never updated regularly enough. Sure "he can update anytime" but "can" is a long way from "does".
I use a lot of online frame catalogs and few, if any, give full and accurate a, b, ed and dbl measurements.

You are totally right........................and what happens then is that the search engines get tired looking at the old stuff and then he looses top listings and when that happens he looses the poeple looking at it because they can not find him and he looses the popularity rankings.

I spend between 2 and 4 hours every day updating and once a month nearly a full day, but, it pays off.
