    Angry High index lenses

    Hi Everyone,
I came across a patient who has refractive error of -10.00/-4.00 @140 in RE and -11.00/-4.00@50 with visual acuity of 6/24 each eye. He wants very thin spectacles. Which lens do you guys advise for him. Please advise the possible lens available in the market.
    Hoping for help.
    Thanks

1.74 bi-aspherical lens will be a good choice. if not go for glass lens, 1.9 index should be good enough.

another thing to consider will be the frame selection. the smaller A size will be good choice but make sure your patient will find it comfortable rather than it being too tight on the face.

plastic frame always good in hiding up the lens thickness. same thing make sure it fits well.
    Yeap

Toric HGP contacts, well fitted and supervised. Patient will love you.
    Second choice toric soft contacts.
If you just want his money, use 167 is a very small symetrical frame in his P.D.

With 6/24 visual acuity either make the lenses thicker or use trivex. I know that on the other side of the pond you don't have safety standards for dress eyewear but in this case you may consider it.

I don't think that is going to happen. Go as small and round/oval as possible. 1.9 glass will be the thinnest. Here in the states I would use 1.74 high index.

Coz In nepal the lenses that are readily available in India are ordered.

1.74 is ok, but it's too expensive, what i think is 1.67 bi-aspheric lens is enough.

There is not right think to patient that the lenses thiner, and it will be better. I stroge recommend 1.67 bi-aspheric. but for 1.74 is also a good option.

We are a lenses manufacturer, so we know the exactly technical date for these two lenses.

Just my personal opinion, for your information.

    Rigid bi-toric contact lenses.

Or if you can find some old civil war specs, or reasonable facimiie, with say a 30 mm or less eye size they won't be too thick.
