I am an ABO certified optician looking to relocate to Raleigh. Can you give me some more info on the positions?

The license in NC will require that you attend an accredited school or complete a significant (3.5 year) apprenticeship and a 6 month internship prior to receiving a license. I would see the NC State Board of Opticians and see what, if any, of the training requirements can be waived for the ABO. I am certain it will be accepted for one- two parts of the 9-part exam. There number is 919-733-9321.

You will find NC one of the most rigorous states in which to gain licensure, but greatly valued upon attainment. Good luck on your move.
