FT Poly Trans = No Alize?

Is there anyone who can explain why my lab in PA continues to substitute Zeiss Advantage for Alize on my FT Poly jobs? This last one happens to be a FT Poly Trans, but they've done it frequently on FT Poly jobs for the last few years. They have in-house Crizal facilities.

    Thanks.

    icare,

I hope they call before subbing. I've attached a list of availabilities but they do change often.

I tend to write Crizal on everything and my lab will call and ask if they can sub another coating. I like to know so that I can change the patient's record. They did have to call and inform me once that FT trans poly and Crizal do not mix. If your lab isn't calling you than you must have a standing agreement that they can sub at will? Um, have you asked them?

Blue Jumper These companies put on whatever they want....................

You should not forget that Cryzal........Alicee..........and any other registered name for a product are proprietary and do not stand for a certain product that should or has to be used.

These companies put on whatever they want, have handy and in stock.
If you believe that you are buying a product you are dead wrong, you are buying a name product that has the sanction of the father or mother to baptize it that name. They have the right to make substitutions any time they want to, and it will still be that product. like it or not.

    ICare,
There are no poly Transitions brand segmented lenses.

Most likely the reason the lab will not put Crizal on the photochromic poly FT lens is that is not on the Crizal approved products list.

Like the man said, it pools up around the seg line. Many of the nicer AR coatings have this same property, including Teflon.

There are slick coats on the market that guaranteed will not produce runs around any segment. They are not Alize and do need no approvement by Mrs or grandfather Alize.

However I will not give out any names because it is Friday and I do not want to be accused of anyhing.
